Description
Bracketts Farm is a 500-acre working agricultural destination located in the heart of the Green Springs National Historic Landmark District in Louisa County, Virginia—an area known for its pastoral beauty, unique geology, and rich history. While most of Green Springs is privately owned, Bracketts is the only site open to the public, offering rare access to this nationally significant landscape.
Open during daylight hours, Bracketts features a 1.6-mile Heritage Walking Trail with benches, historical interpretation signs, and tree identification markers. Visitors can enjoy views of the lake, farmland, wildlife, and the charity garden maintained by the Louisa Extension Master Gardeners. It is also a favorite spot for birdwatchers, included in the NCDWR’s Wildlife & Birding Trail Program.

Beautiful farm with a free public fishing pond and trail.

Nice little out of the way gem of a trail! We came on a cooler fall day with a little overcast, but we still enjoyed hiking around this beautiful farm. Well marked paths...and not to mention...cows! Will definitely return again!
