Description
We are a small, independent, family-owned brewery located minutes from Lake Anna in central Virginia. Crafting approachable English-inspired beers named for historic taverns in the area, as well as a variety of rotating selections, we offer a place to relax with family and friends near the lake. Grab a seat on our large patio to enjoy the view when the weather is warm, or maybe a cozy spot by the fireplace inside the tasting room during the cooler months. Come see us and enjoy a pint (or flight) of Virginia beer.

Spent some time the day after Thanksgiving visit to family nearby. Outstanding beer, service and food. Comfortable and friendly, looking forward to our next visit!

Our group of 10 from a Lake Anna weekend made this our second stop on a Sunday afternoon and we were glad we did. Beer was excellent with great variety. The local wine from Barboursville was top notch. The food was very good and came out quickly. The seating both inside and outside was good. It also had a good spot for music events. The owner made you feel welcome and he made sure you knew your patronage was appreciated. For us Cooling Pond touched all the bases. We will go back every time we visit in the area.

We had an amazing experience at Cooling Pond for our rehearsal dinner! The owners helped the event go perfectly and were very kind. The beer and wine was phenomenal!

I stopped by around 4 PM and was surprised to see only two cars in the lot. I tried the cider, which was completely forgettable. What really bothered me, though, was the customer service. The place was practically empty, yet the staff acted like I was an inconvenience rather than a guest. No effort to engage, no interest in sharing what they offered — it honestly felt like they wanted me to leave. Extremely disappointing experience.

We stopped in on a Sunday around 12:30 and found the place empty. Turns out all the folks in the area are enjoying Lake Anna and don't come out till they're done with the sun. The bartender was very nice, poured us a nice flight of their beers and let us chill for a bit. We didn't try any of the food. None of the beers jumped out at me as extra special but everything was drinkable and they have a nice variety of styles, so something for everyone. The tasting room is nice, and there's a nice amount of outdoor space as well. We live visiting breweries around VA so we're glad we stopped in.

Had a good juicy IPA. Band outside was pretty good. AC was nice inside.
