Description
Hidden just outside of downtown, the Louisa Town Park stretches across six acres of open fields flanked by wooded creek beds, which are interspersed by a few over-arching trees. This is a great spot to enjoy a picnic or short walk in the fresh air. As you walk along the creek, listen for Carolina wrens and white-eyed vireos scolding from the underbrush and northern cardinals and their large family of fledglings chipping insecurely from overhead. Once you reach the open lawn, watch for foraging American robins, northern mockingbirds and chipping sparrows.
Check the treetops for flocks of cedar waxwings and the occasional white-breasted nuthatch working its way carefully along the branches. Pay special attention to the park during migration since the variety of habitats could attract a wide range of migrant warblers, vireos, tanagers, grosbeaks and orioles.

Park is generally clean, old but functional playground, has a large shelter area, and plenty of large trees for picnics.

Nice little town park. Parking lot across the street. The park is small but they have a playground, pavilion and a port-a-potty on site.
