The Sandbar is a spit of soft sand located just underwater at the mouth of Gold Mine Creek up the lake’s North Anna River arm. Much of The Sandbar is under about two feet of water when water levels are normal. The Sandbar is a very popular spot for many activities.

Nice place w/ a great atmosphere. Depending on what day of the weekend you go! Attendance may/will change. Just remember/reminder for all, it's a public place with open access for all lake users, they're will be others there that like they're own choice of music! And chances are they'll have the aftermarket loud boat speakers cranked up! So you may end up having to listen to a source of music that you usually wouldn't listen to! So be ready.

Sometimes is a country crowd other times its a rap crowd. Just depends on the day i guess .
Vollyball net for people who want to play. -

We got there pretty early this Friday before Labor Day, there were only a handful of boats at the time. There was plenty of space to pull our boat up and anchor on the sand bar. There is a vollyball court set up in the water which is pretty cool. We floated, played some water games, swam around and had a pretty good time. People were very friendly and were giving us pointers for anchoring tight, since it was our 1st time. The only thing we didn't care for was the loud music, not that it was loud, but that it was the nastiest, dirtiest hip hop/gangsta rap. I liked the music, but there were a lot of younger kids, even the boat playing the music had like a 7yr old. Our 11yr old kept asking why all the songs were about sex. Later at night would be ok, but at 3o'clock with a couple of familys, it was kind of inappropriate. Would say that might be just luck of the draw when there, but if you have young kids you may want to be aware, if you don't, grind away!

Had a blast playing volleyball right in the water. Met some awesome friendly fun people that we played volleyball with. Everyone is very nice and friendly no drama or violence. Just some good Ole American patriot folks having some fun not violence!

The sandbar is a great spot by itself but the planned events that occur here are the best‼️‼️
